Wednesday

Wednesday we knew we had a long drive home but we wanted some Disney in before we left so we went to the thing Jason has been waiting a few years for. Morning Madness at toontown. We met a lot of characters, saw a cute little show and then rode the train to see the dinosaurs one last time before we left.

Tuesday

We did our early entry this day and had a blast. We rode so many rides in Fantasy Land and then headed over to Toon Town (Jason's favorite) After our afternoon rest (rehydrate) we went on Pirates and some more fun rides. Novalee also went on Indiana Jones 2 times! It was actually a great day. After Monsters Inc for another 2 times (California Adventure everyday) we caught the Electrical Parade ( I think that is the name). We also hit the Bug land and I have tons of cute pictures from that too just not on my computer! Plus we had some more of the delicious nachos from the place right out of our hotel! It was called Croc's and Bits and it went with the whole Peter Pan thing. Awesome!

Monday

Monday was the Lilo and Stitch breakfast. Gunnar wouldn't eat because he was so excited to see them. We also met Minnie and Goofy. It was great.

We met up with my family for a little bit and went on Buzz Lightyear with them. I didn't do good. I am waiting for pictures from my darling husband still so I can only post the Buzz Lightyear ones now.

We went to California Adventure later in the afternoon and saw the 3-d muppet show. Went to the Monsters Inc ride more then once and ate some good food at the stands while we were deciding what to do next.

Sunday

Sunday was a fun day. We had the princess breakfast and got to meet Jasmine, Ariel, Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle. It was so fun for the kids. The food was so yummy. I felt bad for this one guy. He and his daughter ran ahead of everyone who was waiting to be let into the restaurant when it first opened. We had reservations for 8:30 which is when it first opened. He told his daughter to hurry so they could get good seats. Then when they get to the restaurant he couldn 't get seated for a while since they were booked up with the reservations.

Gunnar did pretty good that day except for the little fever and being slightly dehydrated he was ok.

We went on Pirates of the Carribean since that is my favorite ride. We took the kids on the Haunted Mansion and on the Pooh ride. We had a lot of fun. The girls both got to drive cars at the Autopia ride and Gunnar was so mad that I didn't let him drive since he couldn't reach the steering wheel.

It wasn't bad for being a holiday. A little warmer then I planned but it was a great day.

Saturday

Well, Saturday was an incredibly long day. I didn't even sleep on Friday night by 1 am I just decided I would drive better if I didn't sleep then just sleep for an hour.

Friday night before we left was kind of interesting. I went down to the bank just to deposit $5. It was all we needed in there to pay a bill. I had one of those new 5 dollar bill and the people there thought it was counterfeit until the bank manager looked it up online and of course I was right but it was kind of stupid.

We woke the kids up since they didn't know we were going to leave that day for Disneyland. We had told them we were practicing packing for Disneyland and that we were not really going for 5 weeks. We turned the light on and told the kids to wake up. Of course they didn't want to. Then we said, "The Easter Bunny came come look what you got." They opened their eyes for maybe a second and then went back to sleep. Then we told them that we were bored so we were going to go to Disneyland. That got them up. We finished getting ready then took off. We were out by 2 am. I wasn't really tired just excited.

Novalee was the one who started saying that her tummy hurt by the time we got to St George she was saying that she had to go potty. We took her in to the gas station and she went right to the toilet and said " I have to go potty because I have to throw up" so she did. Then I went and checked on the rest of the kids and Gunnar was really warm. I brought him in to the gas station and gave him some tylenol and of course he threw that up. The lady at the gas station was so nice and helping us with the 2 sick kids getting everything cleaned up and trying different things to make them feel better.

We buy dramamine Novalee takes her part, give some to Harley and that in turn makes her throw up. We caught it in a sack before it went anywhere. Gunnar finally took some tylenol and we took off again just thinking about carsickness.

In Baker, we checked Gunnar again and he was really warm. He just looked so miserable his eyes were tearing up and just crying. He didn't want to eat just to be cuddled so we said a prayer for Gunnar and Jason drove while I sat with Gunnar.

We got to California about 1 and went up to our room. It was so cool. Gunnar was still looking really sick. We just figured it was because he was tired from traveling. The girls were good enough to be fighting so I wasn't worried about them.

We decided to go to Disneyland (we had 5 day hopper tickets) and check things out and grab some dinner. After one ride I thought Gunnar would feel better because he loves the rides at Fantasyland. We saw Goofy as we were walking out of our hotel and Goofy was in the lobby. He saw Gunnar with his red eyes in the stroller and he came over and gave him a kiss. Gunnar just still had the miserable look on his face but we didn't know what else to do.

We went to the park saw a few characters and rode one ride. Gunnar was still really warm and his eyes were incredibly red. We all went home. Gunnar was so warm and his eyes were just so red I was scared. I walked out of the park just crying because I was so worried about Gunnar.

I got back to the hotel and I called the lobby asking if they had a doctor or someone who could help me because I was so scared for Gunnar. They had a nurse who sent some thermometers up and just gave me some help over the phone. We took his temp the first time and it was 102 with tylenol. Jason gave him a blessing and we finally got Gunnar to sleep well. I layed next to him and fell asleep. One hour later I woke up to Gunnar just crying in pain. I thought he was saying something like Dying or something and I freaked out I looked at him and he was just crying saying help. I just thought something was so wrong. His eyes were so red they just blended in with his red body. He was burning up. It was too soon to give him more medicine and I think with the nervousness of waking up to him asking him for help I called my dad who was renting a house for a week in California and he took Gunnar and I to the hospital. When we were finally there and finally being seen his fever was over 104. They took him right in instead of sending us back to wait. The doctor was incredibly nice. Gunnar just had a cold and for some reason his body was fighting really hard.

We got home about 2 and Gunnar slept so well. I found out that Ibuprofen works better and is stronger the tylenol and the next morning when he woke up he said "park" he was up and wanting to go meet Mickey.

Thats Saturday.

Well we got back late last night with many cute pics and an unplanned er visit more later!

Yesterday we were on the way to Taco Bell which we had promised Harley we would go to and I heard a start of an arguement.

Novalee : Harley you don't have a head
Harley: Yes I have a head.
Novalee: No you don't

At this point I stopped listening over this arguement because I was trying not to laugh at the ridiculous things they fight over. I knew they kept fighting though because Harley started crying which is a frequent occurance at our house.

Houston, we have a problem

On the way home tonight we heard the joyful sounds of the kids fighting, its not uncommon but tonight it was different. We only heard Novalee say things, I don't know if Harley was whispering things to her because we know that happens a lot when one of them don't want us to know that they are being mean.
Novalee : Mom! Harley is looking at me like she thinks I am fat!
Novalee: Harley thinks I ate too much and now I am fat!
Us: Did she say anything to you?
Novalee: No but she is thinking it I can tell

What a big girl!

Today was an exciting day for us. Harley lost her first tooth! She seems too little to lose a tooth. She is only 5! Novalee was 5 but she was in kindergarten so that makes her seem older to me. I think Novalee was like 2 months older then Harley is now when she lost her first tooth.

I have a picture of her showing off her new grin but I will have to sneak it in this post later I am too lazy tonight. We have had a busy day.

I should just mention as I write this post that Novalee is an awesome reader. She can read so well and is now reading chapter books. Her favorite book is Flat Stanley. I haven't read it but she talks about it. She is also reading this post out loud as I write it and I hope she knows how much her Dad and I love and appreciate her. She is an important part of our family and we love her wonderful personality. We are so thankful for her and she is such a sweetheart. I love all my kids but I just wanted Novalee not to forget how much we love her.

I know this was funny

I went to Cafe Rio for my weekly reward to have a clean home and while I was stuck in traffic for like 5 minutes, I got bored and decided to prank call Jason. So I call and as soon as he answers I hang up. I don't have caller id and so this is so perfect for my house. I start laughing so hard and Harley asks what I was doing. I tell her I am making Daddy so mad. I call a few more times and hang up. I keep laughing at myself because I am incredibly funny and Harley said, "Mommy, do you know what would make Daddy so mad? We put a tree on him!" That made me laugh even harder. Then I call my dad and tell him to call Jason and just ask him random questions just don't tell him I told him to call. My dad calls Jason and then he calls me back and tells me how Jason sounded like he was mad when he said hello but then realized it was my dad.
I thought this was funny but then Jason asked if I kept calling and I couldn't stop laughing and he knew it was me. He was mad at me for a while but he got over it because it was funny and Jason needs to learn how to take a joke.
This reminded me of the time maybe 3 years ago my dad had me call his cousins office and tell the receptionist that I had heard on the radio that his office was doing free doctors appointments.

Lisa and Ava came over and from the look of these pictures I don't think she likes pop rocks. My kids however couldn't get enough of them. We had lots of fun and Gunnar really liked Ava. Hopefully they weren't scared by my family.

Sorry to all you many fans

I know I have been an incredible slacker on my blog, there has been a lot going on which is surprising because its me and I am really boring. I still have tons to write about which include a crazy guy on a bike following me around flipping me off., but I have loads of homework I need to do.
I just have some quick things to post about though for today,

• I finally convinced Jason to upgrade our Internet so they are going to come on Monday to bring the modem, this will mean that my email address will change again, which I hate to do but Jason promised me that we will keep that one. This is coming as a result of Jason trying to do some homework online. While the new Internet is faster then our last one it is still dial up and its slow.

• After taking some really cute pictures of my kids I decided that I am going to need to do a major new look with new pictures to my blog, expect it in the next few weeks. I might just wait until after Disneyland. Jason has set up 4 character meals for us which really surprised me but then he also set up Blue Bayou which is where I have always wanted to eat since I love Pirates of the Caribbean.

• Lastly I decided as most of the blogs I look at, I am going to go private. So email me your address to my current email or my new email which I will post later. I have some emails in my address book but if I don't have your email or I don't really know you but yet you are fascinated by my interesting life just let me know. A Ghost Story

It was a dark and stormy night, Mommy and Daddy were asleep, Novalee was asleep, and Gunnar was asleep. Harley was awake laying in her bed. She was just laying there when suddenly this appeared on the wall. Time to call in Ghosthunters!

Happy Birthday!

So while I was almost on my deathbed I forgot to mention that there was an important birthday JULIA!!

Ok so maybe I am too dramatic

Well, I figured out something smart, while I changed my email address for my blogger account, I didn't change it for my comments, suprising considering I am so close to perfect.
Anyways earlier this month was my beautiful nieces birthday. I didn't go to her party because I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I felt like that for lke 2 weeks. Finally after considering some serious diseases that I had, I realized it was stress.
So this Sunday, I was sitting in Relief Society and I suddenly just felt so sick and achy. I got up and got Jason and we took the kids and went home. I thought I had the flu and that I was so sick I was going to go to the hospital. So after sitting at home crying and coming so close to death on Monday, I gave in and went to the doctor on Tuesday. While we were walking back the nurse told someone not to go in one of the rooms since someone who had influenza had been in there. I thought I might have to call everyone in my ward and tell them that I might have exposed them to a deady disease. I go to the back and they do a strep test and they check all these things on me. The devestating news is that Cafe Rio's salads have 2100 calories!!! The other news is that I have a bad cold. So sympathy for me please.

Happy Birthday Harley!!

Well, since I am such a slacker I forgot to post about Harley's 5th birthday on January 20th. She was so excited and kept waking us up for a few days asking if was her party day. We have been sick for about a month at our house so I didn't plan things really well but she had fun and got lots of fun things that she doesn't want to share. She also had an incredible Strawberry Shortcake cake.

We are so lucky to have her in our family. Harley is so fun to play with. She loves her sister and brother and is always wanting to make others happy.

I do have other kids

I have noticed that the last bit of my blogs lately have been about Novalee I do have other kids though.

Harley - Her birthday is on Sunday and she can't wait! She can't decide what she wants for her birthday. She, like Novalee, has bags packed for Disneyland in March. The other day we cut up one of Daddy's old shirt and we made hats out of the sleeves. Suprisingly, Harley, who is usually the one that gets sick, only got a runny nose this last week while the other 2 had bronchitis. She has been so bored being stuck at home because I didn't want her to get anyone else sick. This morning she woke up at 5:30 and was looking all the house for her Tinkerbell purse from Grandma Rena and she couldn't find it! She even woke up Jason because I told her that he took it. Then when we got in the car to take Jason to work, it was in there and she started crying and said that one of us put it in the car after she went to bed. Yeah. Luckily so far nothing too shocking out of her mouth.

Gunnar - His new word is "Shut up" he says it to the sirls and they tattle, then we remind them that they say it all the time and so they can't tell us. He has been sick and coughing so hard that he throws up. He's doing really good though. We keep telling ourselves that we are going to make him sleep in his bed instead of ours but we are too tired when it comes to bedtime that we just put him in our bed and he falls asleep really fast. We were going to do it over Christmas break but he kept getting sick and hopefully this 4 day weekend we can do it. As long as he doesn't cough too much. He has been asking to go play at other people's houses "Kates house", but he is sick and so we can't do that. Dinosaur fascination going on still. We have been watching a lot of Disney movies lately not just because we are going to Disneyland soon but because we have to bribe Gunnar to take his medicine and so Jason lets him pick out from the Disney shelf. That means a lot of Lilo and Stitch.

Harley: I don't want to smoke when I grow up, I don't want to go to jail
Novalee: Its not fun being in jail they make you work really hard

No, thank goodness Jason doesn't read my blog. I do tell him what I write after someone says something to me in front of him. He does know about the last blog though. That was hilarious.

Mmmm Grease! (Jason is going to kill me)

I know I just wrote a story about Novalee but, this has had me laughing so I thought I should mention it. Novalee was playing with Jason's hair one day and I started laughing and told her not to play with Daddy's hair because it was greasy because Daddy hadn't washed it yet. So she started licking her comb and said "Mmmm I love grease!" It was so gross but I couldn't stop laughing. Yeah Jason is going to get so mad at this but it was funny.

I always thought I would feel like an adult once we bought a house but, I made reservations for us to go to Disneyland in March and now I am officially a grown up!

I don't know how to say this

Ok so I went to pick up Novalee from school today and on the wall, the kids had written their new year's resolutions. Novalee's was to be "good in bed" it sounds so funny to me but I know she got in trouble last night for playing in her bed and not sleeping. Maybe that was it.

Christmas 2007

Our kids woke us up at 3:30 am. They were so excited. Novalee got a princess barbie castle and a carriage with a new barbie Harley got a stroller, car seat ,a swing and a new doll not to mention her white care bear that she has been asking for for months and Gunnar got dinosaurs. Once Gunnar saw his dinosaur he didn't want to open anything else. We got him to open one thing finally but then it was some shoes so he didn't go for anymore.

They had a wonderful Christmas we spent time at Grandpa Art and Kathys in Salt Lake. They went to Grandma Karen and Grandpa Roberts house in Spanish Fork and Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Jerry here in Provo. The kids were given so much and had so much fun. I was so excited because they were so excited. I forgot my camera when I went to my Dad's and I was too tired when I went to my Mom's and to Jason's parents house that I didn't take pictures. Hopefully Bonny emails me some pictures of Christmas that she took later. (HINT!)

While we are playing dress up Gunnar who didn't find it as fun, went to sleep when we went down to check on him, he had a new friend. I know this wouldn't have happened if he was awake

When Bonny first came here I went to my mom's house and she got the girls dressed up with makeup and did their hair, Harley loved to smile for the camera. I tried to do different poses with her but she just wanted to look at the camera. Novalee loved to pose for the camera. I had to tell her to stop posing and just look at the camera. The girls loved getting dressed up. They loved having fun with Bonny.
